 Our Mission/Purpose:

"The purpose of the Sunday School at First Baptist Church of Bar Harbor is to be a resource to help children, youth, and adults grow in their knowledge of the Bible, God's Word, and to grow in their love for God as the Holy Spirit applies the Word to their lives."

We want to fulfill the Great Commandment (Mark 12:30-31) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20)

Children and youth are encouraged to attend the class appropriate for their age level.  We have the following opportunities available:

Our Current Classes:

Nursery (0-2)

We will have a church member available for this age range if there is interest/need. Please let Katie Dyer know, so that arrangements can be made.

Age 3 through Grade 5

Joanne Records and Katie Dyer are team teaching this group of kids using The Praise Factory curriculum.  The children will learn 104 biblical truths with Old Testament, New Testament, and real-life application stories.  We meet in the downstairs hallway by the nursery room.

Junior High (Grades 6-8)

Tina Reed will be leading this group through Psalm 139; learning it, memorizing it, and applying it to their lives.

High School (Grades 9-12)

Adrian Munro and Jonathan Boucher teach this class and they meet downstairs in the classroom next to the church office.  They are using a book by Francis Chan called Multiply Movement.  The goal is to bring to life our church mission to be and make disciples of Jesus Christ.  The material uses scripture to engage the learners in what it means to be a follower of Christ.

Adult Sunday School:

Women (taught by Linda McFarland) - meets in the church library

Adults (taught by Tim King) - meets in the Fellowship Hall

Adults (taught by Pastor Scott Records) - meets in the conference room

Other elective classes are offered time to time.

Most classes head up together to Coffee Fellowship that starts at 10am.
